Zola studied a National Diploma in Food Service Management at the Walter Sisulu University. She did her In-Service –Training at Netcare –Unitas in Johannesburg and was permanently employed in 2001. Zola was a finalist in Netcare Chef of The Year (2005) and crowned Netcare Baker of the Year twice.

 



What is your philosophy on food? Do not mess with your ingredients, love them.
What inspired you to become a chef? Passion and a love for food
Globally, which chef do you admire? Charlie Trotter
If you couldn't be a chef, which profession would you take up? Social Working or Interior Design
Other than food and cooking, what inspires you? Seeing our beautiful country represented by our national teams
What is your fondest memory in the kitchen? The moment when it was announced that I had won the Netcare Baker of the Year 2006
What do you eat for breakfast? Toast and Coffee
What do you never cook? Malamogodu (tripe)
What is the one dish you find difficult to get right? Creme Brulee
Who is your most influential historical figure? Tata Nelson Mandela
