The South African Chefs Association has been extremely busy, travelling around SA and putting on demonstrations. After returning from Cape Town, we immediately set about putting the last touches on the preparation – although the KZN SACA Committee were exceptionally organised and had taken care of a lot of the details.
SACA took control of the Delicious Theatre, sponsored by Enterprise, at District Delicious, and with the fantastic demonstrating skills of the chefs from KZN, put on a wonderful show. Two members of Culinary Team South Africa were there, namely Peter Gyorgyicsek and Edward Clegg, doing the Team proud! Some of the demonstrators included Craig Elliott, Clinton Bonhomme, Shaun Smith and Caryn England, to name but a few, and assistance behind the scenes was supplied by Shardha Govender and students from the Fusion Cooking School and Durban University of Technology.
A mini-plated Salon Culinaire was also held, with Peter Gyorgyicsek receiving a bronze medal and Wynand Schoeman receiving a Diploma.
Huge thanks go to everyone involved, especially Enterprise, all from the KZN Committee and all of the demonstrators, as well as Nick, Navz and Graham from the office.
