In the July 2012 issue of Hotel & Restaurant magazine, as part of Andrew Moth's opinion piece, he has recognised SACA's retention of its Level 2 BBBEE Status, emphasising that SACA is a "sound investment" for sponsors.
Here is Moth's full piece:
A SOUND INVESTMENT
The South African Chefs Association (SACA) has retained its Level 2 BBBEE Status, missing Level 1 status by 0.00015%. The retention of Level 2 BBBEE Status means that companies which sponsor the association can claim back 125% - thorugh some complicated government-regulated process - of their investments into SACA.
This is a good thing, but who can remember a time when SACA was not doing everything it could to advance the cause of all chefs and cooks in South Africa, regardless of skin colour or sexuality? Few, if any organisations can claim to have done so much for so long.
