After months of deliberation, MasterChef South Africa has announced its 3 judges for the popular foodie reality show. They are Chefs Pete Goffe-Wood, Andrew Atkinson and Benny Masekwameng. Pete is well-known in the industry for his many years of involvement in the Eat Out Awards, as well as being an outspoken supporter of the South African Sustainable Seafood Initiative. He is also a member of the South African Chefs Association Western Cape Committee and runs cooking classes under the name Kitchen Cowboy. Andrew was a long-time Director of the South African Chefs Association, heading up the local and international competitions, and is the executive chef of Piccolo Mondo in the Michelangelo Hotel. Benny Masekwameng is also from Johannesburg and holds the executive chef position at MondoVino restaurant at the Sun Square hotel in Montecasino.
With these three judges and a number of guest chefs earmarked for the first South African season of MasterChef, there is no doubt that come the 20th of March 2012 every foodie in the country will be glued to their screens.
