Australian mining company seeks to employ a hands on hard working executive chef for their operation in Malawi. You need to be able to handle 6 12 hour shifts a week . preparing 4 full meals a day. You must manage the kitchen ,costs hygiene etc and manage the 2 junior chefs and 6 other kitchen staff. Looking for a chef who has managed a kitchen, ie can do stock control, organise production and ensure costs are controlled for a Private Hospital. You will work with dieticians and the catering manager on a cycle menu. The client would like a chef with hotel or fine dining restaurant exp because they want to improve tyhe food qaulity. We are looking for an experienced out going and eager Executive Sous Chef for an upmarket establishment in northern KZN. A predominantly 5* background is essential as well as a resort/multiple outlet containing more than 3 kitchens. This position will be suitable for a Sous Chef/Exec Sous/Exec Chef with at least 3years experience in these positions is a prerequisite. International experience is an added bonus. The starting salary is R20k but if your experience impresses there is space for negotiation.
